Minister Meets with ICAO Council President

Minister of Transport H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani met with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council President H.E. Salvatore Sciacchitano, on the sidelines of the High-Level Ministerial Segment held during the ICAO Security Week 2024 (ICAO SEC 2024) in Muscat, Oman.In addition to enhancing Qatar-ICAO relations in civil aviation, the two officials discussed several key topics relating to aviation’s security and cybersecurity, as well as topics that interest the two sides.Mr. Mohammed Faleh Al-Hajri, in charge of managing the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, and ICAO Secretary General Mr. Juan Carlos Salazar were in attendance.

Minister Meets with Omani Counterpart

Minister of Transport H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani and the Sultanate of Oman’s Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology H.E. Eng. Saeed bin Hamoud Al Maawali discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of transportation and its associated activities, particularly aviation cybersecurity and sustainable and ecofriendly transportation.This came when the two ministers met on the sidelines of the High-Level Ministerial Segment held during the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Security Week 2024 in Muscat.The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohammed Faleh Al-Hajri, in charge of managing the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority.

Minister Attends ICAO SEC 2024 Ministerial Meeting in Muscat

Minister of Transport H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani today attended and addressed the High-Level Ministerial Segment held during the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Security Week 2024 in Muscat, Oman. In attendance were the President of the ICAO Council H.E. Salvatore Sciacchitano and ICAO Secretary General Mr. Juan Carlos Salazar.In his remarks, the minister said Qatar has taken all the steps to achieve what is stated in the Muscat Declaration adopted during the meeting and which focuses on key topics of aviation and cyber security.He pointed out Qatar’s active participation in all ICAO activities and events, emphasizing the country’s strong belief in the importance of focusing on capacity building and technical assistance to further enhance compliance levels at the regional level.H.E. the minister also noted the importance of dialog and information and expertise exchange among the ICAO Member States and other organizations and experts; a joint effort he described as the path to continue improving the aviation security system and air transportation’s safety and regularity.Attended by several ministers, heads of delegates representing the ICAO Member States, and senior officials of regional and international organizations, the High-Level Ministerial Segment discussed global security priorities in aviation industry and current cyber-related challenges, and explored innovative approaches that can ensure a safer future for the civil aviation industry around the world.

President of Dominican Republic Receives Minister

The Ministry of Transport is the official sponsor of the 3rd Qatar Supply Chain Management Conference (SCMC), organized by Dar Al Sharq Group. Ministry Takes Part in ITTC-2024 in Turkmenistan

The Ministry of Transport has taken part in the III International Exhibition and Conference “International Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development – 2024” (ITTC-2024), organized by the Turkmenistan’s Agency for Transport and Communications in Ashgabat.Addressing Session 1; “Transport Transit Corridors and Intermodal Connectivity”, the Road Assets Section Head, MOT, Ms. Nayla Al Noaimi highlighted some of the key achievements on transportation, the Transportation Master Plan for Qatar 2050, and MOT’s plans aimed at enhancing the transportation and logistics services systems to further improve regional and international connectivity.ITTC-2024 covered numerous topics such as innovative financial mechanisms and investment opportunities to support sustainable infrastructure projects and strategies implementation, and the role of interregional transportation systems and the potential of seamless transportation across various modes.The event was attended by the Secretary General of the International Road Transport Union (IRU), the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Road Safety, high-profile representatives of global bodies, and transportation department heads from some Arab and foreign countries.
