Qatar, represented by the Qatar Mission to the IMO, took part in the 13th Session of the International Maritime Organization’s Sub-Committee on Navigation, Communications and Search and Rescue (NCSR 13).

Held at IMO Headquarters in London from June 22nd to June 26th, NCSR 13 advanced maritime safety by updating digital navigation standards, revising performance requirements for S&R equipment, and integrating modernized communications into global shipping.

The Qatari team underlined the importance of cementing international cooperation in navigation and S&R. For them, it is also important to continue supporting efforts to develop regulatory and technical frameworks that contribute to ensuring the safety and security of maritime navigation, in line with relevant international agreements and instruments.

Qatar actively participates in IMO’s meetings as Qatar continues supporting international efforts to enhance maritime safety and navigation systems efficiency and improve S&R services.
