The Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT) of the Republic of Ecuador have signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the ports field.
The MoU aims to encourage greater collaboration and exchange between the national ports administrations of the two countries.
The two parties also agreed to cooperate, inter alia, in the fields of port information technology and development, exchange of ideas and best practices on ports improvement and productivity, and training and development of management and port operation executives.
The MoU was signed by Ambassador of Qatar to the UK, Ireland, and Iceland, and Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), H.E. Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani, and Ambassador of Ecuador to the UK H.E. Luis Ignacio Vayas Valdivieso.
The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the 34th Session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Assembly, in London.
The MoU reflects Qatar’s commitment to cementing its international cooperation in the ports industry and the exchange of expertise and skills with its international partners.
The goal is to further raise the efficiency of ports management and operation and develop them to the best universal standards.
