A Memorandum of Understanding on the Mutual Recognition of Seafarer’s Certificates was signed today between The Government of The State of Qatar and The Government of The Republic of Benin.

The MoU was signed by Minister of Transport H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani and Benin’s Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Olushegun Adjadi Bakari.

The MoU comes in implementation of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers 1978 (STCW) and its Amendments.

The MoU shall apply to the certificates of seafarers who serve on registered merchant ships of any of the two countries and sail under its flag.
