Minister Meets with Egypt Civil Aviation Minister

Montreal - Canada Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti met with Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation H.E. Mohamed Abbas, on the sidelines of their participation in the 41st Session of the ICAO Assembly. The two ministers reviewed Qatari-Egyptian cooperation and ways to enhance it in the fields of civil aviation and air transportation. Qatar’s Ambassador to Canada H.E. Dr. Khalid bin Rashid Al-Mansouri, Director of Department of International Organizations, MOFA, H.E. Ambassador Ali bin Khalfan Al Mansouri, and Mr. Mohamed Faleh Alhajri, who is in charge of managing the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), attended the meeting.

Ministry Commences Autonomous Vehicle Strategy Development

Doha – QatarThe Ministry of Transport announces its development of an overarching strategy and associated legislations for governing autonomous vehicles in the State of Qatar.This step is reinforcing the Ministry’s vision in leveraging emerging technologies in line with best world practices and further improving mobility and transportation services in the country with environmentally sustainable form of transport.The development of the strategy and legislation will take into account of technical, legal, economic, social and environment considerations; resulting in a governance and regulatory framework along with a road map for implementation of autonomous vehicles in the country.

Minister Meets with U.S. Counterpart

Pete Buttigieg, on the sidelines of Qatar’s participation in the 41st Session of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Assembly. The two ministers discussed Qatari-U.S. cooperation ties in the fields of transportation, and ways to develop them. They also reviewed latest developments on civil aviation.

Juan Carlos Salazar, on the sidelines of Qatar’s participation in the 41st Session of the ICAO Assembly. Held at ICAO Headquarters, the meeting reviewed aspects of cooperation between Qatar and ICAO in civil aviation, and ways to develop them. They also discussed latest developments on the field. Qatar’s Ambassador to Canada H.E. Dr. Khalid bin Rashid Al-Mansouri and Director of Department of International Organizations, MOFA, H.E. Ambassador Ali bin Khalfan Al Mansouri attended the meeting.

Minister Attends Signing Qatar-Barbados Air Services Agreement

Montreal - Canada Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti met with Minister of Tourism and International Transport of Barbados Hon. Lisa Cummins, on the sidelines of Qatar’s participation in the meetings of the 41st Session of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Assembly. The two ministers reviewed relations in the fields of transportation and civil aviation, and ways to develop them. Following the meeting, they attended the signing with initials of an air services agreement that allows the national carrier to further expand its network of destinations worldwide. The agreement was signed by Mr. Mohamed Faleh Alhajri, who is in charge of managing the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) and Barbados’ Director of Civil Aviation Ms. Tracey Forde-Bailey.

Mr. Salvatore Sciacchitano, on the sidelines of Qatar’s participation in the 41st Session of the ICAO Assembly. Held at ICAO Headquarters, the meeting reviewed ways to enhance Qatar-ICAO relations in civil aviation. They also discussed ways to contribute to research and development on reducing carbon emissions. Qatar’s Ambassador to Canada H.E. Dr. Khalid bin Rashid Al-Mansouri, Director of Department of International Organizations, MOFA, H.E. Ambassador Ali bin Khalfan Al Mansouri, and Mr. Mohamed Faleh Alhajri, who is in charge of managing the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), attended the meeting.
