Ministry Takes Part in Transportation Conference in Iraq

Baghdad – IraqThe Ministry of Transport has taken part in the conference of transportation ministers from neighboring countries and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which convened in Baghdad.The conference was inaugurated by Iraqi Prime Minister H.E. Mohammed Shia al-Sudani in the presence of several transportation ministers and undersecretaries of the region.Acting Assistant Undersecretary, Land Transport Affairs, Eng. Hamad Essa Abdulla, and some of MOT officials represented the Ministry at the event.The conference is aligned with the Iraqi Government's vision of promoting economic integration and cooperation among neighboring countries to serve as a foundation for peace and stability in the region and a platform for partnership and sustainable development.The event discussed the Road of Development project which the Iraqi Government plans to carry out.On the sidelines of the conference, the MOT delegation met with the Deputy of Transport of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran H.E. Shahriar Efendizadeh and discussed cooperation ties in the fields of transportation.

Minister Announces Qatar’s Contribution to ICAO Training Programs

Seoul – S. KoreaMinister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti has attended the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)’s Second Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS), which opened in Seoul, S. Korea, today.Nearly 30 transportation ministers representing most of the ICAO’s Member States are attending the event, in addition to several airlines’ senior officials.At the GISS’s opening session, Minister Al-Sulaiti declared the State of Qatar’s contribution to supporting the ICAO’s technical training programs for the countries that need to sharpen their personnel’s technical competence, thus enhancing the execution of the GISS’s plans.Themed “Working Together for an Innovative and Sustainable Global Aviation Community”, the GISS is highlighting the ICAO's latest digital tools, key initiatives, and collaborative endeavors to support aviation resilience, innovation, sustainable development, and operational solutions, as part of ICAO's efforts to support the realization of the UN Sustainable Development Goals set in the UN 2030 Agenda and ICAO's No Country Left Behind (NCLB) initiative.
