Minister Meets with Egypt’s Civil Aviation Minister

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti met with Minister of Civil Aviation of the Arab Republic of Egypt H.E. Mohamed Abbas Helmy, on the sidelines of his participation in the 5th round of Smart Transport, Logistics, Infrastructure & Traffic Fair & Forum for the MEA Region (TransMEA2023), which opened in Cairo today.The two ministers discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation in the fields of civil aviation and air transportation activities, and ways to further enhance them.

Minister Heads Qatar Delegation to TransMEA2023 in Cairo

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti headed the State of Qatar’s delegation participating in the 5th round of Smart Transport, Logistics, Infrastructure & Traffic Fair & Forum for the MEA Region (TransMEA2023), which began in Cairo today under the patronage of President of the Arab Republic of Egypt His Excellency Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. The event was inaugurated by Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly in the presence of several transportation ministers from the region and Africa.TransMEA2023 runs from Nov. 5 to Nov. 8. It has attracted nearly 350 exhibitors from 50 countries. It will be discussing developing the transportation ecosystems to keep pace with the future to reach a sustainable, ecofriendly transportation industry, in addition to the future of logistics services associated with that vital industry, and the industry’s current challenges.

Minister Participates in Main Session of TransMEA2023 in Cairo

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti has participated in the main session of the 5th round of Smart Transport, Logistics, Infrastructure & Traffic Fair & Forum for the MEA Region (TransMEA2023), which opened in Cairo today.Addressing the session, Minister Al-Sulaiti highlighted Qatar’s efforts and investments into building an integrated, coherent, ecofriendly, and sustainable transportation system, something that did place Qatar on a leading position on the world map of transportation industry, thereby serving and supporting the strategies and plans that aim at progressing on the country’s agenda toward a greener future and achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.Several transportation ministers participating in the event attended the session. They discussed the advancements in the region in terms of sustainable transportation systems, and the challenges to ecofriendly transportation projects.

Kamel Elwazir, on the sidelines of his participation in the 5th round of Smart Transport, Logistics, Infrastructure & Traffic Fair & Forum for the MEA Region (TransMEA2023), which opened in Cairo today.The two ministers discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation in the fields of mobility, transportation and ports, and ways to further enhance them.

Minister, Georgia Vice PM Sign Seafarers’ Certificates Dual Recognition MoU

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti and Vice Prime Minister, and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia H.E. Levan Davitashvili today signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the dual recognition of certificates of seafarers between The Government of The State of Qatar and the Government of Georgia.Signed in Tbilisi today, the MoU comes in compliance with the provisions of The International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW 1978). The MoU will apply to certificates of seafarers in unlimited voyages and for near coastal voyages, granting freedom of passage to the seafarers working on board of commercial vessels.  The signing ceremony was attended by Qatar’s Ambassador to Georgia H.E. Hassan bin Ahmed Al-Mutawa.
