Minister Attends, Patronizes Qatar Aeronautical Academy Class 2024 Graduation

The Qatar Aeronautical Academy today celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2024 in four academic disciplines in the field of aviation. The graduation ceremony was attended and patronized by Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti. Several ministers, heads of government entities, ambassadors, and officials representing the aviation industry and concerned ministries were also in attendance.On this occasion, H.E. Sheikh Jabor bin Hamad Al Thani, Director General of the Academy, who delivered a speech at the ceremony, congratulated the graduates, and wished them continuous success to contribute to the ongoing progress and development of the country’s aviation industry. He added that the Academy not only trains students, but also prioritizes obtaining universal certifications and accreditations for the certificates it issues. He said that the graduates’ academic disciplines varied, covering pilot training, aircraft maintenance engineering, air traffic control, and the airport operations management.A group of graduates who represent the Class of 2024 also addressed the audience, and thanked the QAA’s administration, and teaching staff for their support and dedication.The QAA continues targeting the highest levels of air safety and security, supported, and supervised by the MOT.

MOT Launches Fresh Digital Services on Small Crafts

The Ministry of Transport has launched a new package of digital services related to maritime transportation. The new digital services cover small craft transactions. This comes in the context of MOT’s digital transformation and service automation plans that aim for performance excellence, faster transactions, and simpler procedures.The new services, which will be available for the public on a test run at MOT’s official website, will allow beneficiaries to register a small craft, renew craft registration, modify craft specifications, issue replacements, delete small crafts, and issue craft owners sequence certificates, in addition to the mortgage, release of mortgage, and ownership modification services. Beneficiaries can receive the services they applied for at their preferred delivery location via Qatar Post. The new digital services enable the public to apply for the services they need anytime, anyplace, thereby saving their time and effort.   The new package of eservices shows that MOT keeps modernizing a transportation sector that is supportive of the technological advancements by making a qualitative shift in digitizing the sector’s services by introducing smart solutions to the public and deploying modern technologies to provide better services. Additionally, the Ministry, by so doing, is implementing its plans that aim at improving the services and making them easier, simpler, available, and accessible anytime, anyplace, triggering higher public satisfaction.

Qatar, Trinidad and Tobago Sign Air Services Agreement

The State of Qatar and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago today signed an air services agreement. The agreement was signed by the Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti and Trinidad and Tobago’s Minister of Works and Transport Hon. Rohan Sinanan. The agreement allows the designated airlines of both contracting parties to operate unlimited and unrestricted traffic rights for both passenger and cargo flights.The pact comes in the context of connecting Qatar with more air services agreements that open airspaces for the national carrier to fly to more destinations around the world.Following the signing ceremony, the two ministers discussed Qatar-Trinidad and Tobago relations in the fields of transportation, civil aviation, air transportation activities, ports, and ways to further enhance them.The meeting and signing ceremony were attended by Mr. Mohammed Faleh Alhajri, in charge of managing Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, several MOT officials, and the delegation accompanying H.E. Minister Sinanan.

Saleh Bin Nasser Al-Jasser, on the sidelines of Qatar’s participation in the Future Aviation Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.During the meeting, Minister Al-Sulaiti praised the Kingdom’s big efforts for a successful organization of the Forum.The meeting discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of transportation, civil aviation, ports and railways, and ways to take them to higher heights, particularly the logistics services supporting the transportation industry.
