MOT’s Assistant Undersecretary of Maritime Transport Affairs Dr. Saleh bin Fetais Al Marri met with President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar.Meeting in the Ministry’s offices, the two officials discussed enhancing MOT-AASTMT cooperation on the technical, legal and research aspects of maritime transportation in a way that contributes to developing that vital sector.

Kamel El Wazir, on the sidelines of his participation in the Egypt International Airshow (EIAS 2024).The two officials discussed aspects of cooperation in the areas of transportation and ports, and ways to further develop them, particularly on the activities related to air transportation.Qatar’s Ambassador in Cairo H.E. Tariq Ali Faraj Al Ansari attended the meeting.

Minister Visits Qatar Armed Forces Pavilion at Egypt Int’l Airshow

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti has visited the Qatar Armed Forces’ pavilion at the Egypt International Airshow (EIAS 2024), which opened in New Alamein City on Tuesday and concludes today. Qatar’s Ambassador in Cairo H.E. Tariq Ali Faraj Al Ansari accompanied the minister in the tour.The minister explored the display and was briefed on its components as the Qatar Air Force exhibits some types of aircraft.Representatives from over 100 countries, 300 exhibitors, and numerous aviation and space industry leaders from around the world are participating in the event, displaying some of the latest technologies, equipment, and most-advanced civil and commercial aircraft.Featuring airshows, conferences, and an exhibition of the newest services and products on aviation, the event aims at supporting the manufacturing and digitization system in aviation, defense, and space, serving as an international platform for aviation industry and space agencies to discuss the achievements in the areas of space exploration, satellite communications, and space technology’s civil and military applications.

Minister Participates in Egypt International Airshow

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti has participated in the opening ceremony of the inaugural edition of the Egypt International Airshow (EIAS 2024), which opened at New Alamein City today under the patronage and in attendance of H.E. President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.Representatives from more than 100 countries, 300 exhibitors, and several aviation and space industry leaders from around the world are participating in the event, which runs from September 3 through September 5 at El Alamein International Airport. The airshow will showcase some of the latest technologies, products, and most-advanced civil and commercial aircraft.The airshow aims at supporting the manufacturing and digitization system in aviation, defense, and space. The event serves as an international platform for aviation industry and space agencies to discuss the achievements in the areas of space exploration, satellite communications, and civil and military applications in space technology. The event also features airshows, conferences, and an exhibition of the newest services and products on aviation.Qatar’s civil aviation industry has over the past few years seen a significant transformation with the goals of the Qatar National Vision front and center and reported record numbers this year. Aircraft movement at Hamad International Airport rose 7% last July on a YOY basis, compared to July 2023. The number of passengers also climbed 10%.The launching of the S-band radar system at HIA and long-range radar system in north Qatar and the establishment of the Doha Flight Information Region (FIR) have contributed to enhancing the operations of the Qatari civil aviation industry and keep them at pace with the global civil aviation systems, in step with latest universal technologies.

Minister of Transport H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti has participated, via videoconferencing, in the first quartet Ministerial Council meeting on the Development Road project and Al-Faw Port development.The meeting was attended by U.A.E. Minister of Energy and Infrastructure H.E. Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Iraqi Minister of Transport H.E. Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi, and Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Minister H.E. Abdulkadir Uraloglu.The ministers discussed the latest on that strategic project and the updates regarding roads and railroads construction works.
